In the June 2002 Village Voice Feature Jazz Supplement entitled "Post-War Jazz: An Arbitrary Road Map," notorious Jazz writer Gary Giddins chose Hank Jones' version of 'Oh, What A Beautiful Morning' from this recording as the single most noteworthy recorded jazz performance of 1977: "a neglected masterpiece-his quintessential performance...
